ABOUT
Clare is an award-winning writer working in theatre, radio, film and fiction. Her plays include The Container, 2007 (winner of a Fringe First and the Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award), The Enchantment, 2007 (National Theatre), Blue Sky, 2012 (Hampstead Theatre Downstairs and Sherman Theatre, Cardiff), Pixel Dust, 2017 (Assembly Roxy Upstairs, Edinburgh), On The March, 2018 (Oxford Playhouse commission) and After The Peace (longlisted for the Bruntwood Award 2019) and a translation of George Sand’s Gabriel, 2022 (Oxford Playhouse Plays Out at Univ College Oxford).
Based in London, her plays have been performed in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, USA, Australia, Mexico, Italy and Canada.
Clare runs Playhouse Playmakers, the playwriting development programme at Oxford Playhouse.
She is joint course director of the MSt in Writing for Performance at Cambridge University Institute of Continuing Education, as well as teaching on the MA/MFA Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at Central School of Speech and Drama, and at Tisch/NYU in London.
Clare is represented by Rachel Daniels at Berlin Associates.
